Since I’m usually behind the Internet fads, I’m sure most folks have already played with the face-matching stuff at myheritage.com. I tried with three different pictures and had rather different results. Apparently I change. :)

So, Sunday and Monday I mowed down near the street (and still didn’t quite tear up a lawnmower, but I did bend the blade), washed and put away all the laundry and even my bedding, straightened the house a little bit, finished watching One Piece Movie 6, and watched 14 episodes of Buffy.
Tonight I just watched another three episodes of Buffy. This is not particularly productive, but it’s marginally better than playing multiple games of sudoku.

Today is a don’t-feel-like-doing-anything day. I need to finish mowing the yard (I made a good start yesterday), I need to wash clothes, and I really need to clean the house. I don’t want to. I even have a new One Piece movie to watch and don’t even really feel like doing that.
Motivation, I need motivation.

Today was a bit of an odd day. I started the morning troubleshooting a problem with one of our UNIX Boxen printing to a printer in Hot Springs (firewall at their end), ended the day by learning how to TFTP a configuration to a Cisco ATA (completely different from every other Cisco VOIP device), and in between bought equipment, dealt with AD security issues, messed with Bluesocket authentication, answered programmer questions, and just generally did my typically nerd stuff. I’ve stayed fairly busy this week, and I don’t expect that to change tomorrow. That’s generally a good thing. It keeps me from being bored.
Someone reminded me that RiverFest was this weekend. I had completely forgotten. Since I’m not helping set up wireless access this year, I may well just skip it entirely. It’s a good venue to girl-watch, but just watching can become no fun after a while.

It was fun attending the kickball finals yesterday. I still find it humorous how seriously the intermediate and competitive league take their games. If I had to play in that league I would never have bothered. The Laid-Back league folks were there in force, however, and fun was had. I ate too much, stayed on my feet too much, and apparently ended up downwind of smokers too often. By the time I left last night I was all stopped up and my eyes were seriously watering. I came home and immediately had a shower, which helped a bit, but didn’t clear up my sinuses. This morning I decided to stay home and recover. I’m better now, but still stopped up. From reading the message board, a number of people went to Midtown afterward. That always sounds like fun, but I know better than to even attempt it. If I can’t deal with smokers in the outdoors, I *know* I couldn’t handle a bar.
I’m worried about Mark. He is depressed again, and I have no idea what I could possibly do to change it. In fact, I’m fairly sure there *isn’t* anything I can do. He has so much potential, but social skills equal to mine.

I had an uneventful drive back from Austin. That’s exactly the way I want drives to be. I spent most of yesterday with
Mark and Rob. Mark called me fairly early to get me to have breakfast, and it went on from there through the commencement and on to the Master Pancake Theatre at the Alamo Draft House late last night. As a result, I didn’t even try to head out early this morning. I just woke up, took a shower, and left. As it was, that turned out to being on the road around 7:30. That’s fairly late for me. :)
I made one tourist stop on the way home. I dropped off in Round rock to see… the round rock.

It’s really a rather neat formation.
Tomorrow marks the final games of the LRKA Spring 2007 season. Since we’re not in the finals, that means I get to go and simply watch. That will hopefully be fun.
Fri 18 May 2007
So I’m in Austin. I drove down yesterday, went to Mark’s commencement today, and will be driving back tomorrow. The commencement was kind of fun. A number of the graduates had their own cheering sections. Today’s ceremony was one part of one college, and still lasted about three hours. I definitely understand why UT breaks them up.
I like Austin. It’s too bad I don’t have a job down here.
Thu 17 May 2007
I head out tomorrow for Austin to watch Mark’s graduation. Two nights there and back on Saturday. I usually enjoy driving, and expect I will this time except for one truly annoying thing — gas prices. It’s hard to enjoy cruising down the highway when you know the gasoline alone is costing 10 cents/mile.
I’m going to try to put that out of my head and just enjoy the trip. I’ve tried to come up with an alternate route to keep things interesting. I’ve found routes that are actually shorter then my usual, but would probably take a couple of hours longer. I can’t decide if it’s worth that just for a slight change of scenery. I’ll probably stick to the Interstates going down and think about 2-lanes on the way back.
