I wish I could take a picture at the moment. I’m sitting on the couch watching Stargate SG-1. I have Cinderella snuggled up against my right leg and Oscar snuggled against my left. Bookend kitties are cute.

Today is one of those cold, grey, rainy days that make you enjoy climbing in a warm bed and having pussycats snuggle up to your sides.
That’s how I spent much of my morning.

This morning’s drive into work.

P.S. Yes, I know it’s blurry. You try holding a camera steady for a tenth of a second while driving down the road.

The morning drive was foggy, rainy, and gloomy along wet, slick roads. But the other drivers were, for the most part, well-behaved.

I dropped by Wal-Mart on the way home to pick up milk, cereal and bananas. The bananas had a sticker which read “Place sticker on forehead. Smile.” So, of course that’s what I did. I wandered around the store that way for a bit, and finally went up to the checkout where the girl said “You have something on your forehead”.
I replied “Yes I do. Can you read it?”
She read it and laughed. She told me that she hadn’t seen those before. I wasn’t surprised. I wonder how many people even look at the stickers, and of those who do, how many would actually stick them on their foreheads. Since I don’t watch television and rarely read magazines, I have no idea if this is part of a larger marketing campaign, but I thought it was cute.

Taxes have been mailed.
Too much lunch has been eaten.
Time for a nice nap.

Lately I seem to have the attention span of a kitten.

The concert last night went well. We had a very good turnout and that’s always a nice feeling. We also had one of those moments where you want to either strangle someone or burst out laughing. Just as Dr. Keating mounted the podium and started to raise his baton, someone’s cell phone started ringing. Always the professional, Dr K. stepped back down and waited for the noise to subside, then stepped up again and began the concert. I hope whoever’s phone that was will think to leave it in the car next time.
Today I finally filled out my income taxes. I still don’t have a final copy ready to mail, but I’ve done the calculations. It took me all of about 45 minutes, after putting it off for two months. I don’t know what my mental block has been about doing taxes this year. I even knew I was going to get a refund, so there’s no good reason. It’s always a bit depressing to see just how much of my money goes in taxes.
I haven’t gotten enough rest this weekend. I want another day (or two, or three, or …)

I decided to be productive and mow the yard this morning. I got the back and part of the side mowed before I ran out of oomph. I’ll probably finish it up tomorrow. The good news is that I didn’t destroy the lawnmower, although I did ruin one blade.
The UALR Community Chorus concert is tonight. I’m looking forward to it. I think we will do justice to the requiem.
